Planting lycoris squamigera?
-
What's the best season to plant Lycoris Squamigera (Resurrection Lily) in Zone 5 area? I know this is a late summer bloomer which would mean planting in early spring, but I have read different information so I'm very confused to say the least. Help!

Answer:
The best time is from right after they bloom until mid-fall, with the second best right after the tops die down. If you're planting new bulbs, early spring is good. Just don't try to move them while the green leaves are growing. I've grown them for years, and have transplanted them during nearly every month but January and February, for one reason or another. They always come right back, although they may lose that season's bloom. They're very forgiving as long as you water them in well.
