Is the incense from a religious altar harmful?

Is it harmful to burn incense sticks in houseplants' pots?

  • Could their be something in the ash that makes plants sick? You see, I have a plant that doesn't grow, and it drops a couple leaves a year and replaces them even slower. Occasionally, I use it for an incense holder.

  • Answer:

Ash=Carbon We decompose to carbon so you are fine with that falling on the soil or plant, the problem i see is that maybe the plant is not getting enough sunlight or there is not enough nutrients in the soil for the plant to thrive. If there is not enough sunlight you may want to get it a little bit more sunlight, if not, then i may suggest that you go to home depot and buy a small bag of soil and replace it so the plant can have the adequate amount of soil. A plant needs a certain amount of NPK to thrive; the soil it has may be deficient in one of these elements thus the dying of the leaves and not growing. Also make sure you water the plant but not drown it. Please like my page, www.lbeconomytreecare.com Thank you so much for your kindness.
