What are some fast-growing pot plants?

I want to grow several smaller plants in one pot....?

  • So I'm a newbie plant person and I got this plant that is slowly dying but I kinda figured this would happen so I'm not all that sad, but I now have this pretty big pot I bought for it and I want to make use of it. I was thinking of putting several different but smaller plants into the one big pot. To make matters even more difficult, I live in an apartment with no balcony and I don't really get much direct light...plenty of indirect light because I have a whole wall of windows. SO...1) is this a good idea to start with 2) any suggestions on plants to try.... I like the idea of an herb garden but I'm afraid it wouldn't be that successful because I couldn't get the direct sun those plants require. Any suggestions would be great...thanks so much!!!

  • Answer:

Okay... if you are going to want to start a herb garden, you are going to need sunlight, but if you dont get any, try buying a sun lamp. It will be just like the sun, give off a good amount of light, so that your plants can survive. As for putting them all in one pot, be careful, you dont want the roots to intertwine because if they do, they could possibly kill each other from lack of space. The roots need a good amount of space to grow, so that they can get the right amount of water and nutrients for the plant to survive. Plants to try: if you are going to try a herb garden, try just planting the basic herbs such as opregano, parsley, sage, etc.
