How do I get my lady slipper orchid to bloom?
-
The plant is healthy and I have fertilized it and keep it with my African violets under those light conditions. Anything else I need to do to get the lady slipper to bloom?
-
Answer:
Lady slippers are indigenous to cold areas. It needs a cold snap and short days to bring it into bloom. Try leaving it outside for a month if your temperatures at night do not drop below 30 degrees in winter. If it's too cold at night, leave it on the porch or garage where it can be cool for a while.
