I think that cockle shells all in a row do something. Some may think to the contrary. Healthy well feed plants seem to do OK, lots of compost. Ah! I left all that worm tea up there, litres of it & really potent.

It all depends on the plants. There are some that grow wonderfully together, and others that almost kill each other. Marigolds are wonderful at keeping the bugs away, and it improves the taste and growth of tomatoes. Marjoram improves the taste of all vegetables. Ladybugs, Toads, Spray the plants with very mild mixture of dish soap and water for aphids. Snakes. Beer can with a little beer in it open side to the ground for slugs. Tobacco plants for a border to help prevent rabbits from enjoying the salad your growing. Those sticky fly strips to help control the flying pests. There is more but I am still looking for the site. Vicky S is correct about the Marigolds...for a spray, use dish liquid, that's supposed to help deter bugs.

can't help you here....i don't know how to make things grow...even my plastic flowers die on me...
