I'm painting my room black then adding blacklights: I need to put a design on my walls w/ white paint: ideas?

Before you completely decide, first think about this. While this idea might seem cool to you now, think you might be regreting it in the future. When I was younger I decided I was going to paint my room dark blue. The lighting in the room was horrible after that because it made it so dark. My room looked horribly small and I could no longer get ready in my room because of how dark it looked. Not to mention that when you do get older and want a change, that is going to be the worst to paint over... You could probably paint your room another color and then still do your black light idea. If you still are set with this idea, try basic shapes, outlines of the shapes overlapping, bold lines, go for a grafitti style and invite some friends over and have some fun with it. Paint things you know are your favorite. Maybe paint some sayings on the walls that you find inspiring or live by. Just a few suggestions. Good luck

I agree with the others, obviously astronomy stuff or splatter paint might be kind of cool. I think you should do a jungle scene with lots of trees and leaves and animals peeking out from them. It could be really cool. Good luck, this sounds like a fun room idea.

Although I think you will be bored with the black theme long before 2 years is over (also, spiders build webs in dark corners) I would suggest an astrology constellation.

You can get stencils of ANYTHING at craft stores, anything your into, from dolphins to flowers, from mushrooms to guitars.... Or you can "splatter paint" just research the splatter before doing it because it will be a mess. Make stripes?? 3" thick stripes on one wall like behind your bed or something?

White paint won't show up any better than black under blacklight. You need to use a flourescent paint, soething that would convert the UV into visible light.
