Before and After Idea on my Bedroom?

Is this a good idea for which colors to paint my bedroom in?

  • im 13, and i share a bedroom with my (almost) 10 year old sister. We'll be sharing for quite a long time....... until we move out, and we're just settling in unless my grandma wins the lottery, me and my sister are stuck with each other. Its not a really big bedroom, heres how it looks: if you walk in, the oppisite wall has a window the adjacent walls are larger than the opposing ones it kinda looks like this : (scroll down at the very end, and you'll find a green bedroom, with the horse in the window and the sunlight poring in: http://www.kagozi.com/small-bedroom-paint-design-interior/ except mines a bit wider. theres a door on the opposite wall from the window, my bed is leaning against the left wall when you walk in, and we're getting a pull out bed:) okay now, my uncles gonna spray paint or whateverr my popcorn ceiling the lightest shade of lime,( it kinda looks like white/yellowish) the left wall is going to be hot pink, its called salmon pink, the right wall is going to be pink and a darker shade of lime, (or green, but light green) (its going to be striped :) the other two walls, (the window wall, and the door wall, are going to be a darker shade of lime, (the same lime as the stripes...... the furniture is going to be this really sweet turquoise color the bed is going to be dark turquoise, the desk is going to be a lighter turquoise, the chair(s) are going to be a different shade of turquoise (we're buying the chairs, my dad and uncle are going to paint the bed and the drawers and desk and etc...) is this a good idea? what kind of carpet should i get? is black and white zebra ok? how about the shelves and the curtains? (my rooms an ugly shade of light light yellow, and i CANT STAND IT!!! also are there any other ideas? should i have some of the furniture orange, or will that not go at all? how about the shelves??? uuughh help!!!!!

  • Answer:

As a professional painter, I can tell you that what you are planning takes a lot or prep work, a lot of skill, a lot of paint, and a lot of time. The room will appear very busy with all the different walls and different color furnishings. Wat to busy to really appreciate any of it. I suggest you simplify the design by painting all the walls one of the colors, like the light lime green or medium pink. Choose one. Then add another color on the furniture, I would actually opt for white. You can get really bold and colorful then with the accessories, rugs, bedding. Adding pinks and oranges that way. And finish it off with a zebra rug.
