What should i use to make my room look like this?

I want to make my room look like this http://www.livingitup.co.uk/led_blue.jpg http://i.pbase.com/g6/21/670021/2/72325803.M9gS2zow.jpg http://media.photobucket.com/image/blue%20mood%20lighting/globetravellerI/DSC03684.jpg (its mostly like the last one the side of the plane NOT the ceiling) but on my wall not my bed its not ssuposed to go on the ceiling but the wall instead what material or type of wood should i use to cover the light bulbs itself but shows the light?

Answer:
You can use LED "tube lights" or "rope lights" -- Google either term for lots of options. I'd recommend frosted plexiglass for covering/diffusing the light, since it's fairly inexpensive and lightweight, and it's easy to cut and to drill through to attach it to the side of bookcases, etc.
