Which are the books on the royal bookshelves?

What do you put on bookshelves (other than books)?

  • im getting a 5x5 bookshelf with squares (open) i have maybe 15 books. what else could i put on the bookshelves to make it look more full?

candles, picture frames, sculptures of some sort, small lights, anything really

It's nice to have grouping of similar items (collections )...I have three or four glass doorknobs I collected scattered between pictures (old family pix are awsome...copy them in "Sepia" tone to make them look antique...add a plant or two or small crock (I even use old silver tea pots) with herbs...you can pick and use. Keep a similar color pallette....silver items...silver frames...include something black (candlestick...picture frames) to keep the eye attracted and bring out the other items. Gee...where do you live...I love doing this kind of stuff!!!!

Anything decorative that you don't mind having to dust later. Little easels holding photo frames or decorative tray or a plaque. Other ideas are figurines, candles that you plan to light only on top shelf, others just for decoration on any shelf. Other decorative trinkets, clocks, nice boxes --sky is the limit!
