How to make your living room look cozy any ideas?

• i just painted my living room all white it needed freshening up..but now it looks so empty..what can i put in it to make it look like cozy im keeping the walls white though.

  Cushiony couches and ottomans work very well to make a room look and feel soft. Furniture in warm woods, maybe with a soft tablecloth, have the same effect. I'd also suggest installing a fireplace - if you cannot do that, simply use candles. It'll make the place look and feel warm and cozy. Also, fill the room with pictures. Cozy spaces portray an air of warmth and closeness, and nothing does that like pictures. It can also make up for the bland white walls. Use soft things...carpet if you don't have that already, rugs, velvet curtains, etc. How cozy it is also depends on its size...if you chose a big white room, then that space is less enclosed. Cozy spaces are typically smaller rooms where heat is more easily circulated and people can sit closer together. I know you said you didn't want to repaint the walls, but if you decide you do, choose a warm color next time - like a warm beige. Repainting it any color but white will make the room appear smaller and more cozy. My grandmother, whose house looks very cozy, always has plenty of large throw pillows and blankets throughout the room and keeps incense going.
