How can I keep my flowers and lavender looking beautiful every day?

How do I keep a lot of fresh cut flowers looking new?

  • I am having a little over 300 flowers delivered to me 3 days before the event. The reason for this is if the flowers break the company has time to ship new ones. So, other than water & a fresh cut. Does anyone have any ideas. Also what Temperature should they be kept at? Thanks!

  • Answer:

3 days ahead of time is fine. Keep them cool. You can ask the company that is delivering them to give you some fresh flower food. It's a white powder that dissolves in cool water and will feed the fresh cut flowers. If they are roses, you can add one aspirin to the water - make sure it's aspirin and not something like tylenol. tylenol will make everything turn brown overnight. Or for roses you can add some Sprite or 7-Up to the water. Don't go crazy with it, just a couple of tablespoons. Adding a little bit of ice to the water will also help keep the flowers cool.

Keep them cool, but next time...don't do this..have them delivered the morning of the event..never allow this as you will get wilting, buds will bloom..and you should not be the one responsible for the flowers not looking as you ordered. Reputable companies would have extras on hand for this...before accepting this agreement get a few things in writing and signed by the company or you might have problems.
