How to redecorate a new room?

How to redecorate a room (shared by boyfriend and girlfriend)?

• We just had to move back into my grandma's house, where we live in a little cramped bedroom, and most of the furniture isn't ours. Currently the walls are painted bright yellow, and we have my boyfriend's bed set which is blue with circles and I'm not too keen on it. There is no art hanging in the room, except for Japanese flowers that I will probably take down. We have a crapload of furniture, too: a huge french bed, three side tables, a dresser, an entertainment center, a large cabinet, and our Pitbull puppy's kennel. None of the furniture can be removed, but we might ask if they want to put the two white side tables in a different room, which would open up some space in the room... probably for more furniture for storage. Obviously, this isn't a room that two people right out of our teens are comfortable living in. We need to redecorate. Any tips/advice?
