I know his may seem a little, out of place but, I need ideas on my room design.?

An overhead projector is great for putting an image on the wall for tracing a mural of your choice. Have fun!

How about brown with blue or jade/ blue accents. These colors really look great together, it is not typically feminine. And you can funk it up with accents around the room. Just and idea. I was never aloud to paint my room so i taped celaphane all over the walls that were different colors and patterns. I also collected boxes and bags... lol anyways, good luck!

Let him pick out the color, he probably wants off white or tan, right? That;s ok. You can decorate the room with posters and stuff that the wall paint probably won;t even show. Maybe get him to paint the ceiling black though. Look cool with a black light or strobe light going on. Good Luck. Make it your own though.

I'd have to say that bright blue with white veins is a great idea, and it would suit insanity very well. As for myself, with very much debate, I've managed to paint my wooden floor with various colours of the rainbow in spirals. Pretty insane :P. If you like lighter colours, maybe I could suggest a bright blue background with maroon red, beige, and/or white stipes in [burberry style?]. I also know of someone who has a rich purple coloured wall, and they've somehow managed to put splatters of white dots all over the wall (in a way that it actually looks like paint splatter). Instead of focusing on insane colors, try playing with texture. Ralph Lauren has lots of tools (brushes, sponges, etc.) and different colored glazes to create texture on walls. I just painted my walls this bright yellow-ish orange and used one of his brushes to make all these lines in it, and it turned out pretty good. Also, insteading of painting the whole wall a bright color, paint small areas like the inside of drawers or shelves a funky color or something that contrasts with the wall color. Wild bedding, shades, and furniture can also brighten up your room, and they're easier to change than the wall color. Good luck :]

tell him its team colors from home depot them use a tape off to make the center of the room a band of black three inches high then under neathe scarlette of red and the top in black you will have to primer it in gray to cover the old paint and to save the extra coats the other popular way is to do a gray primer then do three walls in white pure brilliant white then use the red or the black ,, teel your dad you will repaint it to something dull before you move out see that should cool him down or heres atrickuse dabris like sheets on lathe for colors tack a sheet of scarlet or black to a lathe as wide as it paint the ends and then mount it with screws in to the walls do a differant one on each or try this paint the sheets then say the wall arent harmed and i can fill the screw holes later fo a few pennies OK mean time i can change the colors as i want to differant themes or try to do real art on it .. i painted apanel inside of a frame in my front room and each person in the house is allowed to do amural or a quote each day its called blackboard paint on the sheeting idea dont fasten the sides just tack the lathe to the top and botom after rolling it over a few times good luck,, an olde painter 27 years

take a look at [email protected] his name is chris and he's an interior designer........also remember that if you use the reds-pinks-oranges-yellows it gives the room a heated atmosphere but if you use green-blue-purples that is cool colors.......... a girls room looks great in blue with a white ceiling and gives the impression of water and you can use clouds. boats. fish etc as decor that makes a very nice room

sounds like your dad has vetoed some pretty cool ideas. so, don't paint the walls. take the money you would spend on paint and tools and go out and buy some canvases and art paint and make some insane artwork and hand that on the walls. that way you have your fun crazy room that shows your individuality and your dad doesn't have to worry about repainting when you leave. bonus you can take your crazy artwork with you when you leave :)
