Hey Ozzy - The comparison shopping engine Nextag is your friend http://www.nextag.com Pots and flatware can be purchased at Ikea, Target, etc. I assume you want to change the flooring at least in the kitchen. A popular innovative product is called Tarkett Flooring http://www.tarkett-floors.com/us/ An easy way to decorate a living room is with wall grilles http://www.nextag.com/wall-grille/search-html For paint I suggest you look at the wonderful colors available in the Aura Affinity line http://www.myaurapaint.com For closet shelving or office shelving I suggest you look at Wall Perfect http://www.wallperfect.com think of this as fun and before you know it you'll have an awesome place you'll be proud to call home

The best way you can learn to to this is to go to places like Linens n Things, Bed Bath & Beyond and all the speciality kitchen places and ask for help. You won't get the same help online. Online you are expected to know what you are looking for. Stores like Target and other big box stores carry this but don't have people to help you with your questions. Furniture is the same. Sales staff in good furniture stores are there to answer your questions even if you can't afford their lines. Just be there to ask and then take your info and apply it where you can afford to buy. At least you are armed with info about quality and fabrics etc. Target and stores like it are fine for flatware, towels canisters and lots of good looking decorative things that don't require a lot of knowledge, just an eye for what you like. Invest in good cookware and a good knife block set. Target offers Caphalon at great prices and J.H. Henckel and Chicago knife blocks as well. Artwork is available at Target, Linens n Things, and Bed Bath & Beyond and they often offer buy one and get one at half off. It's not gallery stuff but nice and you can find other accessories at good prices too. Start slow, ask a lot of questions, and hopefully you have a good eye. Look at catalogs on line for Frontgate, Ballard Designs, and Pottery Barn. They will help you put looks together even if you can't afford their lines. Good luck and have some fun.

highly recommend www.ikea.com Affordable, and their site is broken up by room type. Good luck!

Alright, don't count Walmart out. I have purchased many kitchen acessories from Walmart and Target. You can find such good things there for not too much money. For more decorative items, try Pier 1, Ikea, and World Market. They offer fun and unusual things. But seriously, you can find pretty things at Target and Walmart for minimal cost!

As for furnishings & decorative accessories, I like Home Decorators Collection: http://www.homedecorators.com/ They have the best selection of rugs, they have cool leather furniture, lamps, window blinds, artwork, etc.
