What are some Dorm Room/ Small Bedroom Decoration Ideas?

  • My bedroom isn't small it's big enough to hold anything I need and almost anything I want.... Anyway my bedroom isn't square shaped it's like a square and then a chunk of wall comes out for the entrance. My wardrobe is stuck into the wall and I have trouble moving my bed because of the power cord and I need to plug in my lamp, my phone and my laptop. I also have a giant mirror that takes up most of room. So all I pretty much want are bed ideas, dresser ideas, wardrobe organisation ideas, desk ideas, nightstand ideas and decorating ideas. If you just have one suggestion I'll be glad and don't get me wrong but I'm creative but My creativity is if it is possible too unique. Thanks

I have a small bedroom too, and this is what makes my room so unique: I have A birdhouse on the wall (made it myself!) Christmas ornaments going all along the top edge of the room, hanging from a string of yarn Two giant, homemade dangly ornament thingies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhlGRUr1owk) hanging from the middle of the ceiling Art everywhere - some my own, most done by professionals A giant stuffed bunny on top of my dresser! None of my furniture matches. At all. lol Fake, paint-splattered roses I got at Dollar Tree in a small vase sitting on a shelf I have French double-doors, so I use shiny green curtains over them About a million throw pillows and small plushies I sewed myself A shelf I made in shop class and splatter-painted rainbow above my desk Art Trading Cards put in every little nook and cranny~! Those are some decoration ideas... I have a very small room also, and I find it saves a lot of space to build "up" instead of "down". My dresser is very narrow and tall and shoved in a corner. My desk has many small built-in shelves above it, and I have various other shelves around the room. You can always store summer clothes, old drawings, etc under the bed I use my desk as a nightstand because I don't have room for a nightstand. Hang nice shirts, dresses, etc in the closet and store the rest in a dresser When shopping or looking for decorations, think of things you can hang or put on the wall instead of things that need to sit on something. You can also always store things on top of your dresser if you need extra space. It's okay to cover some of the mirror if you don't have room for a poster on the wall. Personalize it. Don't have everything be store-bought or Ikea room look-alike, fill it with homemade things and strange, personalized items that are meaningful to you. I really hope I helped! Not sure this is what you're looking for but whatever, hopefully you'll have gotten some ideas~!

Forget the mirror. That's just vanity and taking up precious space. Nighttable should have plenty of storage, think small cabinet instead of traditional piece of furniture. If it is supplied by the school and looks horrid, it can be covered with fabric. Use boxes, fabric colored with bed spread to hold misc stuff; papers, junk to eliminate clutter. Utilize the underbead for storage. Throw pillow or just more pillows with shams help with back support when you want to use the bed for daytime lounding. Coordinate with roommate so you don't clash.
