  • Answer:

are they into Dora & Diego at all? With their brown beds, you could do a jungle type scene on the wall and incorporate both of them.

Jungle theme? That way you can have really cute stuffed animals or pictures of turtles, monkeys, birds for the girl, and snakes, lizards, lions for the boys! You can stick with the colors of a rain forest too, different shades of greens which are great for boys and girls......hope this helps!

Having lived in military housing myself and DH not wanting to repaint the walls prior to a move I always had a hard time with this, however I have something NEW for you that will spice up the kiddies rooms with out damage to the walls and DH will be so happy he does not have to repaint. soft colors are always nice in a kids room, not too bold. you can use stencils, i'm sure, if you have a michael's, they have stencils like teddy bears, flowers, trains, numbers. or even do your own work. bedding colors. ask them their favorite color. or if they like some character from a movie and or cartoon they'd like. kids always have fun with that. otherwise simple, soft sheets are always fine too. hope it helps a bit!

I've helped with my nephew often when he was the same age as your son. You may want some soft colors for the walls (to keep from overwhelming adult sensibilities)- but you'll want a lot of bright primary colors. Shapes and the alphabet are good, or maybe some good cartoon characters or old Disney characters. You'll want shelves and toy chests- two if you can manage it with the space, so each kid will have their own 'space' for stuff. Make sure you have book shelves: I'm seeing a lot of kids now who don't know how to read and write, and that's scary. And much of that is because they weren't read to when they were small, and so didn't learn to read. Good luck!

First of all, ARE you doing a theme? If not just pick a color scheme. For boys and girls together the primary colors are good. From there you can build many things. ABC's Teddy Bears, Trains and Transportation. Zoo Farm Circus Look into Children's rooms on the net. Ideas ae out there!

if at all possible, seperate the bed on two different sides of the room, and in between put a tall bookshelf facing your sons side and a bookshelf facing your daughters side, to seperate it and give them there own personal space, your son will have open shelves facing his bed and a back of a bookshelf .. and vice versa for your daughter... they can have there own things and on the back of each one facing there bed you can hang up boy stuff they like (cars or ballerinas) posters... and that way his bedding can match him and hers can match hers, for the walls i would prob. stick with something that goes with both, like a tan.. and focus more on bright colors in there decorations. and bedding and art.. Happy decorating... :)

How about Winnie The Pooh and his friends, always warm and inviting...

Simple: Find 3 things they like ... carrots, bouncy ball, blanket. That provides visuals to go around the room, AND colors to pull from. Orange carrots, Red ball, Blue blanket. That sort of thing ;)

With brown you could do barnyard? That would allow you to have tractors for him and fluffy animals for her. Top third of the wall and the ceiling could be blue with clouds, below that could be green fields with cows, horses and sheep in it. At one end of the room, a large barn with a tractor next to it. And then close, maybe some fluffy lambs or baby horses or . . .? Or maybe rail fence up close. His bed could have tractors on it, hers could have sheep. I think they'd like it!
