Is this plaster? stucco? paint?
-
Hi, I removed a chunk of a bathroom wall because it was moldy/corroded, etc. I am not sure how to go about repairing it. It appears to be plaster, with a beige paint over top of it. But it's pretty thin. Maybe it's just paint and not plaster? Here is a pic. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7167/6617965335_2928e4b6e3_b.jpg Thanks a lot for any help.

Answer:
How old is the house? It looks like sheet rock to me. It looks like a fiberglass mesh tape under there. Buy some bathroom grade green board at your local Home depot or Lowes. Green board is not water proof it is water resistant. If you have a water problem you need to get that fixed or the mold will never go away. Here is a link to getting rid of mold. http://www.ezfix101.com/2011/12/how-to-remove-mold.html
