How much can a loft bed hold?

Tromso Loft Bed (Twin sized) recommeded for adults?

  • Like many college students, I'm on a budget and thought the Tromso loft bed ($199) at IKEA was an affordable option for me and my tiny apartment. Although I've read that some adults have purchased this for themselves, I've also read parents saying their kid's loft is slightly wobbly/unstable, etc. While I don't mind tightening bolts every now and then, I am worried for the safety of myself and my precious laptop that would be sitting on a desk under this bed. For people who own this bed or know someone who owns one, would you say its recommended for an adult like myself who weighs aproximately 145 lbs (66 kg). Again, this is for the TWIN sized Tromso loft: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50019950
