I would do a canopy~www.trystancraft.com/martha/~ther… are projects under goth "good thing." Make a mural or a collection of poster, accentuate the ceiling height be tall furniture, a net catch all, even crown molding or a tile ceiling~is easily installed. Collect all your pictures, put them on the wall parallel to the door to create a gallery wall, to make your room appear longer.

try using vinyl wall decals to decorate the walls. the vinyl decals use static cling to attach to the wall so they don't leave any permanent marks and won't ruin your walls.

A great idea for a small room is to knock down a wall and make a bigger room.

Putting a bed on the diagonal does make a small room look smaller. You have to think of your floor space as prime real estate and use it wisely. Measure out your room and draw lines on graph paper so that one square is one foot of floor space. Pencil in the doors nad window(s). Now, measure your bed and any other furniture and make accurate to scale cut outs from he graph paper for these items. This way, you can rearrange your furniture on the graph paper to get the best layout without moving one single piece of furniture. After you find a layout that works, move the furniture. Take every single thing out of your dresser and put it on the bed. Stand there in your under ware and try on everything that you have not worn in three months. Get three boxes and mark them: PUT AWAY< GIVE AWAY >THROW AWAY. Now, put each item in one of those boxes. Empty the Give Away and Throw Away boxes into bags and label them. Put the Put Away neatly folded items back in the dresser drawers. You should have more space, right? Do the same thing with your closet. If you have anything in your closet that you do not use regularly, pack it up and move it to the basement, attic or garage for storage because your room is too small to have things in it that you do not use. Put a double rod on one side of your closet for extra hanging space. If you can, fit a small dresser in the closet. Organize the closet and put out of season clothes neatly folded on the shelf above the rod. Get a clear plastic over the door shoe pocket organizer. This is perfect for small item storage from all of your chargers to small electronics, hair accessories, make up, lotions, hair products, jewelry and those sort of things that usually clutter up your dresser. There should be nothing on the floor except your furniture and a clothes hamper and a waste basket. Use shelving to hold canvas, wire or wicker baskets for your papers and other things that cause clutter. Use light colored bedding and curtains and colorful sheets. I know that sounds boring, but you can add lots of color by getting bright pillows and accessories for the room, preferably to match or coordinate with your sheets. Paint all your picture frames the same color, maybe something bold. If you can, paint a two foot stripe at eye level across the width of one wall. This can be your gallery stripe for photos and art work and maybe a cork board or a padded ribbon board to hold mementos.
