Helicopters have been used for crop-dusting for many years. I remember seeing the smaller piston-engine helicopters, such as Bell Model 47, in use. There may be other types of helicopters that are being used that have the appearance of a Gyro-copter. Could your friend have mistaken a helicopter for a Gyro-copter??
