How do I access the parent panel?

How does one go about making an access panel?

• We have a jacuzzi tub and we need to put an access panel the full length of it. I only have 3/4" depth to work with before it becomes difficult tying it into the tile surround. We would like to make it with some old wood flooring pieces that are 1/2" thick.

I seem to remember and old episode of "Hometime" where Dean Johnson created an access panel for a jaccuzzi in just the style you describe. All of their episodes are available for purchase and I think some of the segments are available as "how-to" tips on their website. You also might try your local library.
