Is goo gone good to use on text books to remove ALL of the stickyness after removing the sticker?

I want to know if it is effective in removing all of the sticker part where you buy books and they have a sticker on it. I want it to look as if there was never a sticker to begin with when i purchased it. does goo gone work for textbooks or books to move it? also does it work while the sticker is on? such as putting the goo gone on the sticker then trying to take it off? will goo gone remove that as well? please let me know asap thanks!

I've used Goo Gone to remove painters tape that was left on a surface to long. You have to kind of let it soak on the tape (sticker) for awhile ad then gently peal it off. Sometime once you get the paper surface off you have to do a re-treatment with the Goo Gone to get all the adhesive off but the stuff REALLY works great.

I might suggest you be very conservative if you use this product on a book. This is a great product for a non-porous surface, but the product might get absorbed into the paper quickly discoloring it and you would never be able to correct the problem. I might suggest sticking a sticker on some similar type of surface as the book you want to remove the sticker from and try that, if you don't damage it great if you do nothing really lost and you preserved you book! Good luck.

On shiny, non-porous surfaces (such as a book jacket), peanut butter works well. Remove as much of the paper sticker as possible, put some peanut butter on a paper towel or a scrap piece of cloth, and rub in a circular motion over the sticky substance until gone. I prefer the aroma of peanut butter to the chemical smell of goo-be-gone.

beleive it or not ,peanut butter is awesome at getting sticky stuff off of all types of things too. I have never tried goo-gone on books.
