  You can go to your favorite search engine and type the name of any chemical followed by MSDS and you will get data sheets from every company that manufactures that chemical.The MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) lists all known hazards and handling precautions plus names and a general description of the material. You can go to wikipedia.com to find information about almost anything, but maybe not 100% reliable. Soda ash - Na2CO3 is a sodium salt of carbonic acid.
