How do I remove a bleach stain from my living room carpet? If I dye it, where can i buy the dye?

    Well first the bleach cant be removed it has removed the color, id advise cleaning the area with a wet cloth to make sure all bleach is removed then id go to wall-marts an buy a box of Rit dye the color you need and mix in a plastic container you can throw away and mix up some using a cup or so of hot water make sure you wear rubber gloves just add a little of the dye powder to the water and add more if you think you need it then using an old toothbrush dipped in the mixture apply to the area that needs covered. After you've got the color you want and the area covered I would take the hair dryer and dry the area.It probably will fade with time and shampoos but you can reapply and will be cheaper than replacing the carpet.

First Bleach did not stain. It removed the dye in your carpet. So you will need to redye it. You can contact a local carpet dyer or carpet sales place to inquire how to dye that spot. Or google Carpet dyes and see if you can do it your self.

I work in the auto industry... We use sims dye, you can buy it at any automotive store, it comes in a spray can. It always comes out looking good in vehicles! Home shouldn't be much different. You will want to have any children or animals out of the home when you do this. You will also need to make sure the area is well ventalated. If at all possible take a sample of the color of the carpet to the store with you so it can be matched as close as possible. Some advice, any kind of paint or dye always looks darker after it dries. I went to the Wal-Mart in the fabric section and bought a package of Rit dye that matched my carpet pretty closely. You would have to see it to believe it. The spot is almost impossible to find and I just cleaned the carpet & the dye didn't come out. Try it - you will be amazed.

bleach is pretty permanent. I'd suggest a Sharpie marker in an appropriate color, rather than carpet dye. Sharpies come in a myriad of colors nowadays!

Bleach doesn't stain it removes the color. Dye is the only way to fix it besides replacing the carpet. You can only improve it at this point. Most grocery stores sell dye in the laundry detergent isle. Good luck
