How hot should a washing machine get?

  • How hot should a washing machine get during a wash cycle. Because, I have bought a new washing machine and have set the wash type to cotton and set the temperature to 90 yet when I touch the glass the glass stays cold. In fact the machine does not appear to get hot at all. I only noticed this yesterday but have always noted that the washing always seems to have an odour of the detergent or even worse. Is it possible that the heater may be faulty or something ?

    Try setting it to its highest temp and just letting it run for like 5/10 min if its still not hot then yeah sounds like the heating filament isn't working. Oh and to make sure its getting hot another way you can check is by touching the drum its self after you stop the cycle it should still be slightly warm.

They are designed not to get hot Child safety and all that ? My washing smells of detergent but its a nice smell If your washing is clean then the water must be getting hot

the glass wont get as hot as the water. the water should almost burn your hand
