White book bag, black stains. How do I get them out?

How can you get grease stains off a hardcover book?

  • I borrowed my friend's Catching Fire book (hardback without the dust cover) and I accidentally set it on the counter where there was pizza or something and it made ugly wet-looking stains on the front cover. I don't want to give it back to her like that because then she won't trust me but idk what to do?!!! Help please!!! Also, I tried putting flour on them and it did nothing.

  • Answer:

Rubbing alcohol MAY work but you will get discoloration on the book. Try: 1.) Apply dry cleaning solvent 2.) Work to center to avoid ring 3.) Blot 4.) Apply light detergent solution 5.) Rinse 6.) Blot dry Since you are working with a book you want to be easy with the amount of detergent and solvent you use :)

Put rubbing alcohol onto a cloth and rub in circles.
