My Ge dryer keeps breaking belts!?
-
I have a 3 year old GE dryer it works great but last month the belt broke I bought a replacement Ge belt and after a month it broke. I bought a cheap generic and it broke in a day. I have looked online and believe from what I see the tension pulley has to be on the right side of the belts or should it be in the middle of the belt? From the looks of the belts its like the motor cut the belt by spinning in one place. Does anyone have a picture of how the belt should be or a site that has a good one? The belt is we12m22.

Answer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PdL6cI8aPU&feature=related Maybe the pulley has a burr on it or is frozen. Make sure the pulley is smooth so that it's not cutting the belt or not frozen in place causing the belt to snap from friction wear.
