How to remove a stain?

How can I remove a stain on my jacket?

  • I have a sky blue hoodie that had a 2 in. piece of BRIGHT yellow paper in the pocket. I forgot to take out the paper so when I put the hoodie in the wash, the yellow dye got onto the pocket and I then unknowingly set the stain by putting the hoodie in the dryer. I have washed the hoodie repeatedly, the stain still remains, and it is not lightening either. The stain is yellowish and very noticeable (to me at least). How can I remove this stain? Is it permanent?

  • Answer:

get scissors and cut it out

Do you have a product called Oxi-clean where you live? Obviously you're not from Texas, USA because I never heard them called Hoodie. That OK, 1 day in the post office a UK gent while standing in line said he had a flat around the corner. I ask if he needed to use my cell phone to call for help.

you could try this inexpensive method make a paste with water and baking soda rub on the stain it will not damage the material but it would probably get the stain out

You could try "SPOT SHOT", but do it on an area which is hidden, just in case it removes the original colour. I use it when one of my granddoggies barfs on my light grey carpet in a corner somewhere in another room, and I don't find it for a day or two. It doesn't always work with one application, but I find it hasn't taken the original colour out of the carpet either. Good luck.

Does the hoodie have any logos or writing on it? If not, you could go to your local fabric store and purchase some fabric dye. First, I would remove the dye completely, which they should have that item in stock. When that process is complete, start with the fresh dye.

Try Lestoil and a toothbrush. It doesn't smell the greatest but by golly it'll take out some of the darndest stains from clothing. You may have to scrub and wash 2 to 3 times before it all comes out but it will come out. Once the stain is removed rewash the item once or twice to remove the smell of the Lestoil. This is also great for removing grease, oil, chapstick, ink and numerous other things. Try it!

Bounce has these sheets that you put in with your wash and it is supposed to help with keeping colors from bleeding and I have noticed that it sometimes takes stains out that were there that I thought were set. I forgot the name of the sheets though. Also you might try spray and wash or shout or oxy.

you might have better luck just putting a decal there. Yeah it might suck because you liked the way it was but I think it is permanent. or you can get dye and just recolor the whole thing.
