I actually heard that hydrogen peroxide is a great cleaner! It works just as well as any other cleaner but it doesnt stain like bleach will. It will even take out dried blood stains (and I only know this because I got blood all over one of my favorite shirts and got some tips on how to get it out without using bleach and it worked like a CHARM!!) You could soak them in some of that.. or any other cleaner for that matter that will kill germs. If you think putting them in the washer would be a little too harsh on them.. then just fill up the bath with warm water and cleaner and let the shoes soak for an hour or 2 and then hang them to dry. If their cloth, it'll take a couple of days to get completely dry.

I don't buy used shoes at all...I have friends at work who say to use Lysol and Febreze for the insides and shoe polish on the outside. If there are any scuff marks, use a pencil eraser the same color as the leather to remove them. Also, peroxide is a hospital trick to remove blood from clothing and/or material-I use it all the time and there's no mark left afterwards!!!

Heavily spray with Lysol. I would not recommend using peroxide, alcohol or vinegar because it may dye the inside of the lining of the boots and could possible change it color. (I once tried using alcohol in my shoes and my feet were dyed for several weeks) You may not have to use Frebreeze because most Lysols have good scents that you can choose from. Polish them with a good shoe polish and you're on your way!

Dude, just put them in yer washing Machine then put them in your dryer and they'll look brand new. You won't even have to do anything except press a button. I've done it before it makes every pair of shoes look brand new.
Soak a cloth in rubbing alcohol and wipe the shoes with it. It will free it of germs, odour. Since rubbing alcohol evaporates faster than water, it must be the best option,

Pee on it....no wait, that's for a jellyfish sting. Don't feed it chocolate.....no, that's dogs.

Shoe powders You know, the kind that stops the shoe from stinking... This slows down bacteria growth therefore slowing down the multiplication of germs.
