  The Sony Entertainment PSP is a device that can be downgraded to an earlier firmware from any firmware that is currently installed. This includes firmware 5.51. The PSP downgrading pack consists of two items. The first item is called a Pandora battery, which places the PSP into service mode, from which the PSP can be downgraded. The second item is called the magic memory stick. The magic memory stick contains the new firmware that will be installed onto the PSP from within service mode. Push the small, rectangular button on the reverse side of the portable device and remove the small door on the back. The PSP battery is inside of this compartment. Pull back on the battery to remove it from the PSP. Open the small door on the side of the PSP where you insert the Memory Stick Pro Duo into the device.
