How to use a shaving razor?

Is it OK for my husband to use Nair on his face instead of shaving with a razor?

  • I use Nair on my legs to keep them smooth and silky. My husband wants to use it on his face, as he says he is tired of cuttng himself with a razor. Does Nair work for men?

  • Answer:

Wow, all the answers are interesting to say the least. Several years ago I was exposed to intense heat which caused my face to get near second degree burns. Once that healed up, I was unable to shave, and it turned out that standard dipilatories were too strong for my face. My doctor recommended Nair, which I used once a week for more than a year. Now, if your husband isn't having a problem, I would just recommend that he do it carefully and make sure he is fully aware of what the directions say.

Oh my gosh, NO!! I tried it myself once thinking it would get rid of the "fuzz" between my eyebrows. The chemicals in Nair are so harsh, that putting them on my skin was like using acid on my face!! I broke out immediately into red, blisters. That was leaving it on for only a few minutes...facial hair, like a beard or mustache would require you leaving it on for a long time. This is not something I would recommend!

You should ask the manufacturer of Nair -- there's probably an 800 number on the package -- or at least look at their web site.

He should try a small area to see it it works and make sure his skin doesn't fall off. Tell him not to use it in the pubic area or he will wish he hadn't.

I have actually tried nair. It is not really suitable for the face. You could try a small(and a mean small spot) to see how it turns out.

I'd be very cautious: afraid of getting a rash. Try calling the company or send them a question from their online site.

There are depilatory creams that are meant to be used on the face. I think the Nair that is supposed to be used on your legs could possibly cause irritation to the sensitive skin of the face. I would recommend that if he really wants to use a depilatory, to look for one that is formulated especially for facial use.

There is a type of Nair that can be used on the face. Try waxing as thick hair can be tough to get rid of. If you don't want the hair to grow back then apply KALO to it. Buy it from ebay cheaper. It prevents hair from growing back permanently after awhile.

i guess it could be ok if it works for him, as long as hes not getting a skin reaction
