Why does your stomach make a gurgling noise when you are hungry?
-
my stomach just did this and i was curious as to why....
-
Answer:
A growling stomach is a normal sound in the digestion process. It not only occurs when we are hungry but also while food passes through our intestines. It is usually due to chemical messages sent to your stomach to release various secretions and juices, and muscle contractions by the stomach. This is the stomach's way of preparing for its next meal -- so it doesn't necessarily mean you're hungry. Sometimes an excessively growling stomach is sign of certain disorders, but typically it's just your tummy being a... well, tummy :]
