Whats the best thing to eat or drink when my stomach's like this?

All day today, my stomach has been been really painfully and everything i eat just goes straight through me. Its stomach cramps and diarrhea,followed by a bit of dizziness and sweating. I don't know how it came on as all i had before this happened was a piece of toast with a bit of butter for breakfast, followed by a small glass of milk. That was the last thing I ate or drank over 12 hours ago. Im not lactose intolerant so it can't be the milk causing it. Anyways, whats the best thing to drink or eat during this time? Or should I just let myself starve for awhile? I am tempted to dive in to a bowl of popcorn as i go watch a DVD but i don't dare. Thanks. xx Sarah

The most likely cause is a virus and the dizziness and sweating are symptoms of dehydration related to the diarrhea, particularly in this heat. Obviously, the main thing is fluids, but those don't work unless they stay a while; bismuth preparations like Pepto-Bismol help slow it and allow absorption and lessen the cramping. Aspirin and ibuprofen help a fever. The ginger ale or other carbonated drinks seem to help most often in settling your stomach; also, yogurt, buttermilk or cottage cheese IF these don't do anything to you ordinarily. And some bland, non-acidic soups might be a good idea; chicken, tomato, vegetable, mushroom, celery. And last, but not at all least, some uplifting trance can do wonders when you need a little pick-me-up...:-)

Are you kidding me? Me too! I have the exact same problem as you. In fact, I've had it for about a week or so now. I was at a fair about three days ago, watching my husband and daughter on the ferris wheel, and I passed out! It was awful. My stomach is actually hurting right now! Ibuprofen doesn't work, and my stomach hurts VERY badly off and on. I don't know what it is.. My sister & husband have been feeling this way too, but not as bad as me. If you find out something, let me know! Haha. Thanks :)

Yeah, sounds like a virus. It's just got to take it's toll. Usually last AT least 3 DAYS. But my suggestion is crackers, broth, sprite. apple juice PLENTY of fluids. I hope u get to feeling better. What happened with your phone after all?

toast lightly buttered or no butter at all and chamomile tea or peppermint tea smile good luck HOPE YOUR FEELING MUCH BETTER

Pretty much anything at this point is going to go through you. Sprite and crackers are always a good option when I have a stomach virus like that.

I learned this at school. It works for kids and adults. It's called the BRAT diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Don't use a whole bunch of toppings on your toast or rice. Keep hydrated with water. I hope you feel better.
