How do I get rid of a bug bite?

  • I don't know exactly what kind of bite it is, I'm pretty sure it is a mosquito bite. It is red, swollen, and itchy. I want to get RID of it, not relieve the itching. The thing is, it's on my face and very obtrusive, so I want to get rid of it ASAP. Thanks in advance!

    we found this remedy by accident ...... one day, I got a horrible mosquito bite and asked my daughter to check her purse for something to put on it..... she had nothing.....but a medicated " Chap-stick "... ( the light blue one ) I figured it couldn't hurt........and slopped some on..... well, it stopped itching immediately, and several hours later, you couldn't even tell I had a bite...!!!! now we all carry Medicated Chap-stick !!

It helps to put spit on it because the reason the bite turns red and puffy is that your skin is allergic to the bugs poisin. The spit helps it.

to hide it i would use make up. unfortunately there's nothing you can do to get rid of a bug bite. you have to let it go away on it's own. there are medicines you can use to get rid of the itch, but that's about it. sorry

Try hydrocortisone lotion. It's safe around the eyes too.
