What Is A "Fourth Degree" Burn?

What do you do for a second degree burn/blister?

  • I have a second degree burn on my foot that turn into a blister about an inch and 3/4 and it went down just a little bit over night. It happened at about 9 last night, and stupidly I ran super ice cold water over it after a spilled 280 degree water on it. After I put anti-burn cream on it, I came home, wrapped it with a gauze pad and then a cloth bandage. It's the second day but I need to go into work by Monday so I want to know how to treat it for the second day. I'm not walking on it, but when I do I am using crutches. It hurt last night to walk but today it doesn't. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

  • Answer:

Whatever you do DON'T pop the blister. Sounds like you are doing the right thing by keeping it covered and dry. lf you don't see any improvement in the next couple of days, l suggest you go to your nearest chemist [or drugstore] and talk to the pharmacist who should be able to advise you.
