How to get a deep, raspy singing voice?

PLEASE I NEED HELP airy/raspy voice im trying to rid of :[[[[?

• ok so here's the history, for its a long one :/ when i was 15 i developed vocal nodules and thus i had an airy/raspy/hoarse voice or whatever. i got them removed when i was 17 and i remember i couldn't talk to for at least 2 days (Vocal rest) well when i talked for the first time i had this pure finally awesome sounding voice. well over the year its disappeared and i sound EXACTLY like how i used to! and its not vocal nodules. and ive been to a vocal teacher for months but had to quit. anyways i don't know what the hell is up :[ i still have this airy raspy voice. and ive literally spent my life looking for things to do. people say "Talk to a wall" or "in a mic and try different sounds" and do all these exercises and ive done it all and NOTHING. the only thing i tell myself as an explanation was maybe because i had an airy voice i developed bad, terrible habits to produce a voice. and now im continuing the habits even though its gone. its funny though because when i sing it doesn't sound AS airy but it does take a toll on it :/ ALSO ive noticed i have a very low vibration when i speak. basically the opposite of airy is vibration. and i don't much vibration at all. so anyhow here is a video of my voice as well as a video of me singing My talking voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzwBSvM-S-I me singing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYkzxBjITgM PLEASE HELP ME singing is what i really want to do and i don't want to let anything hold me back. im also embarrassed by my voice. and i hate living like this so please can anyone at least identify my problem, or even a way to get rid of it?? i will be FOREVER thankful -Manny

  I would suggest, since you love to sing, try a vocal coach. A good vocal coach can teach you to control your singing voice and maybe this will help to control your talking voice. This is assuming it's just the way you've learned to talk. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
