Why do I have a pain in my side after smoking pot?
-
I’m 19, 5'7 and about 130 pound, I’m underweight, have asthma and haven’t been eating that healthy or getting much physical activity since high school. I've been smoking pot occasionally for about a year or so (I don’t smoke cigarettes). One day after smoking I had severe testicular and stomach pains and my stomach felt like it was pumped full of air. I was diagnosed with epididymitis and after taking the medicine prescribed my testicular pain subsided (I wasn’t sexually active). But whenever I smoke I still have the stomach pain on my left side right under my ribs. I’m leaded to believe this is a digestive problem because I become very constipated and burp (which helps the pain a little) a lot after eating and drinking anything which is not at all normal for me. I used to swallow the smoke which may be a factor leading to my symptoms. Also lately I’ve been having very loose stools and it’s been hard to pee when I’m high. I’ve been to the doctor and they say I’m healthy, but the two times my blood was drawn a different thing was elevated and they claim I may have a liver problem (Which is probably unrelated). But If I do it’s not because I drink excessively or pop pills. The pain isn’t because of chemicals in the weed because none of my friends have this problem when we smoke together. I’ve been on many forums and found many people with very similar conditions. They have all gone undiagnosed with many more doctor visits than myself. Some guy on one of the forums said that he was diagnosed with depression and Zoloft has helped with these problems, depression runs in my family, but I sincerely doubt that I have it. Also I have been having a lack of appetite for some time now and I'm slowly trying to gain the weight I've lost back. I would like to figure out what exactly is happening in hopes to prevent it without having to quit smoking.

Answer:
Some people actually smoke weed to relieve stomach discomfort. So I am hard pressed to believe it is causing it. But bare in mind that weed affects everybody differently. And maybe the side affects you are experiencing are a sign that it is just not for you. On the other hand, maybe its not the weed and just the poor diet and lack of physical activity. You might try to not swallow the smoke too. That could certainly be a factor.

Maybe this is a sign that you should stop smoking dope. That stuff is ****, and maybe you should get some physical activity by hitting the gym. You're 19 and only 130 lbs, smh.
