How much is my watch worth?

How much is this pocket watch worth?

  • I have an Elgin pocket watch that was made in 1887 by the Elgin National watch company. It is solid 14k gold inside and out, the case itself and all of the gears and internal workings aside from a few screws are all gold. I also have the original case it came in, however the case is in rough shape. I have taken it to a few jewelers but they have only offered me the price of it's gold value, with no consideration for it being an antique. According to the database on an Elgin watch website, only 10,000 of these watches were made. It is a size 16s, with 11 jewels. Does anyone have a ballpark idea of what this might be worth to the right person? Or where I should take it to have it professionally appraised? Thanks in advance.
