How do you make your own fabric prints?

I am trying to find some medium weight tan Brocade fabrice for a dress I want to make. Searched dozens of site

• I do not want the Japanese or Chinese ones with the prints. Just a good weight tan, a little shiny and dressy, for a straight knee length dress and I will make a dark brown velvet jacket to go with the dress. I have searched dozens of web sites and can not find what I want and have run all over the place trying to find a real live fabric store.
