How do you get rid of fluid in your ears?

You need a tap on your head ;-) Seriously though, sounds like you have wax and doctors have a way with these sorts of problems. What the heck are you doing asking a lot of dumb-a**ed wannabe doctors when you should be down the surgery getting it fixed properly. You know what the solution is - now be a big boy and get it done!!!!!

If you've tried all of those remedies already, I think at this point it's past time to see a doctor! Especially because fluid in your ear can lead to infections, which could end up being much more painful than what you experienced on the plane.

Sounds like you need a trip to the doctor's as you only have 2 ears and its best not to **** around with them...however try olive oil, which might help if its a build up of wax

This is usually because wax is blocking the ear and stopping the fluid from coming out. You can dissolve the wax by using hydrogen peroxide to loosen it and effervesce it out. I'm not sure if it's recommended medically, but I've used it many times and it works quickly. Simply drop hydrogen peroxide into the ear using a drinking straw as a pipette and leave in the ear by laying your head to the side until you can hear it fizzing. Get a tissue and tilt your head the other way and you'll see the loose wax pour out.

If you've had the fluid in your ear for more than a year it is high time you see a doctor! especially if all those other remedies didnt work. i'm sure they will fix you up in no time. Good luck :)

If this persists see your GP practice nurse who can syrnge the ear, releasing the compacted wax which is what is probably the cause.

Tip your head to one side and watch the fluid flow out!

put a few drop of rubbing alcohol in there. it will help to dry it up.
