What causes lower right back pain?

What besides appendicitis causes lower right stomach pain?

  • I have very intense lower right stomach pain. It is much worse upon standing and very painful upon standing after voiding. I know its not appendicitis because three of my children have had ruptured appendices so I know what to look for there. I do not have a fever or nausea bowel function is normal. I do not have health insurance so I can just go to doctor if its something minor. But this pain is so intense that I walk like a very pregnant woman! (I am not pregnant!)

  • Answer:

go to the hospital, they'll bill u later. They can't refuse a patient because they have no health insurance. It's illegal. They'll bill u. Deal with the payment later

Quite possible you have a UTI (urinary tract infection) other issues cannot be ruled out as well including appendicitis (not necessarily ruptured), GI tract infection (C-Diff, food poisoning, etc), diverticulitis, crohns disease, ovarian cysts or pancreatitis and many other issues. As you can see the possibilities are numerous and I would have to say that if you are in that much pain, it's time to get it checked out regardless of the financial impact as if it is something serious and you don't get checked out, you saving alittle money may cost you your life.

Consider C.diff. the new epidemic. I've had it twice and that is how it starts. You may also have IBS. Do you worry a lot? IBS is a lot worse if you are a worrier like me. Have you considered it might be your ovary? I also had pain there and it turned out i had a cyst on my ovary in addition to the c. diff. If you can't afford a doctor just go to the ER and pay what you can over time. It's worth your health. That much pain should not go untreated or investigated. Best wishes, SarahJane

How long has this been going on? Could it be as simple as gas? Ectopic pregnancy? Have you ever had ovarian cysts? Just a couple of thoughts... The intensity of the pain is concerning, especially when you stand. Do you have a free or low-cost health clinic nearby? What about going to the emergency room? I know money's tough and without insurance, medical care is scary. That being said, with kids, you have to take care of YOU first so you can continue to take care of them. (I just filled a prescription for one month of breathing medication and it cost $300. I know what you're dealing with!) If the pain continues, please see a doc. Feel better soon!

Could be a cyst on your ovary...Take something for the pain and a heating pad on low setting. Or just take something for the pain and curl up with your knees pressed up against your tummy. As for a Dr. if it gets so severe then go to the ER and have them bill you..it could be something serious.

from a long time ago i had pain under my right rib.. i was told that it was probably arthritis in the rib.. i was really young.. maybe in my early thirties. I'd not ask anyone here. Just go to a hospital they can't refuse you treatment.. this is silly that you are going thru this.. just go.. ignore a bill .. save a life!
