When you are very stressed out, do you lose your appetite?

  • I'm 16 and 5ft 4. I used to weigh 100 Lbs, but in the past few months my weight has dropped to 85 Lbs, and I'm continuing to lose weight. My appetite has decreased a lot and I don't know why. People comment on how skinny I am and some are starting to think I'm anorexic, which I'm not. The only advice people have given me to gain weight is eat more. However, when I eat beyond when I'm full, I get sick. For example, yesterday when I was at Pizza Hut, I felt full after just one slice of Pizza, but think that was too little to eat, I ate another two, and then a little bit later I vomited. So I'm either eating so little that I lose weight, or if I don't eat too little, I vomit. Despite not being hungry, I'm trying to still eat three meals a day even though I'm eating less at each one. My periods are really irregular: sometimes the gap between periods are a couple of months but sometimes just a weeks. My periods usually last only a day, occasionally two. They are also very light. Also recently I've been more easily stressed and have difficulty sleeping. I also get migraines every few weeks and am regularly dizzy. Is there any reason my body is acting like this? I want to gain weight, and my body to be back to normal. Have I got an illness or is there nothing to worry about?

    Yes this is not normal. Go check with a doctor and get their opinion. It may be nothing major.
