If a low white blood cell count is caused by fatty liver, does that mean cirrhosis is already present?
-
non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and white cell count 2.2...also anemia
-
Answer:
Fatty liver disease does not cause low white blood cells or anemia. Blood work alone does not say for sure whether or not liver damage is present such as cirrhosis. Abnomal liver function blood work simply means that there might be damage, nothing else. Further testing is needed done to determine whether or not a person has cirrhosis such as a biopsy being the best test to diagnose it.
