Can you exercise with a sinus infection?

Whats wrong? Viral sinus problem? Please help! :)?

  • To cut a long story short - - I'm a 20 year old female. Currently, my diet and exercise are bad, but I'm now improving that, over the last few days :) - Started about a week ago, after just getting over my first ever sinus infection of which I had to have 2 different 1 week courses of Antibiotics. - It eventually cleared up, but then 2 weeks later I felt a bit 'off' and run down. -I started getting post-nasal drip again (thin and clear), mild headaches, tiredness, loss of appetite, right-side of nose inside was swollen, and my left ear hurt. Just generally feeling unwell. -2 days after that my mucus had gone slightly mild green/yellow and a bit thicker. Temperature (Digital, underarm) read between 36.3 - 36.6 degrees C. -Went to the doctors the next day, he said my nose inside was a bit inflammed/swollen, so was just inside my left ear. My temperature at the doctors was (taken from the ear, 37.7 degrees C) still was feeling loss of appetite and unwell. - Doctor said because the temperature wasn't quite high enough and I didnt have severe pains/cough etc.... that it was something Viral. He said just take plenty of rest/water/paracetomol etc.... - It has been 7 days now, and I am not feeling that much better. Some days are good, some days are bad. Sometimes the mucus is a bit thinner and clearer, sometimes its thicker and clearer..... no real bad headaches or cough, just some dizziness, few mild head pains and mild earache. Nose is still stuffy in one side. Over the last few days my temperature (Digital, underarm, has read between 36.3 - 36.7 degrees C) Still feel a bit 'off'. What is it I have, and does anyone think its bacterial? Thanks! xxxx

Oh dear, I am sorry to hear you are feeling so ill. It is a very uncomfortable condition. Either-way to be honest with you it is impossible for us here on yahoo to pinpoint what is making you sick. You need to have some blood tests and general lab work done to see if there is something they can find there. Also if antibiotics do not work it can mean that either the bacteria is immune to the drug, that the drug didn't eradicate it completely and it managed to flare up again, or in fact you do have viral infection that is not affected by antibiotics. The second thing I would recommend is determining if you have allergies. Some people who have bad allergies will have many of the same symptoms. Another thing you can do is getting a nasal irrigation bottle (found at the pharmacy). Essentially you put salt in the water and squeeze the water through the nasal passages to dislodge any mucus and viral things in there. This can shorten your symptoms. Then just monitor your health, if you feel worse go back to the doc or hospital. But I hope you feel better soon. And keep up with the exercise! Good luck Best regards Anna
