Bloating (acidic), temp, diarrhoea, sharp stomach pains...what is it?
-
I've had this since sunday, i started with feeling really sick, temp, very bad headache, not being able to stand up without feeling faint. My stomach kept cramping with bad stomach pains. Now, i have diarrhoea - sorry to be graphic, but its yellow. My throat feeling like it has something stuck in it, my stomach is very bloated with acid, its very uncomfortable. I take a drink of water and my stomach is all over the place. I can feel a burning sensation in my throat. I can't touch food, looking at it makes me feel sick. I've had gaviscon tablets and motillum 10, nothings working. I can't sleep, just feel so weak and tired now. I've tried to get into my doctors, but they are fully booked. How can i feel better? Anything you recommend? What is it im suffering from? Thanks in advance!

Answer:
There is a winter vomitting bug called novovirus (or something like that ) that is common this time of year, and is making its rounds again.

I have worked in the ER and seen this many times. Sometimes it is just the stomach flu, others was more serious. However it sounds as if you may be having problems with your bile due to the color of stools although that can be related to you not being able to eat or drink. I cannot diagnose you nor do I choose to try, these are merely suggestions. My advice is go to the hospital to the emergency room to check and make sure it isnt something serious and before you dehydrate which will only worsen the condition.

Whatever the problem is it doesn't sound too nice, the only advice i can give is seek medical attention (GP or if very severe pain get to the hospital!)

If your doctor is fully booked up go to the hospital asap ! it could get much more serious if you wait . please go you could develop a stomach peptic ulcer and this may lead to vominiting blood this is serious and can be fatal! I dont know this is what you have but you wont either untill you get checked out so please go to the hospital ! Good luck.

Are you in the UK? If so, go onto NHS Direct where they have a self help and diagnosis guide. http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

It sounds like a "bug", maybe what used to be called gastric flu....I doubt if your doctor would give you much for it , but you could get some Kaolin and Morphine mixture from the pharmacist, which has worked wonders for me in the past! If you really can't stop being sick, though, try to see your doctor before the weekend.....perhaps you could get an injection (like one has after a general anaesthetic and it makes one sick) to help stop it. Try to at least get some fluids inside you - water with a little salt and sugar added, or weak peppermint tea with sugar....peppermint water is also available from the pharmacy and might help settle your stomach. Like someone else said, NHS Direct can be very helpful with phone advice.

Your body is trying to get rid of the illness. Keep your fluids up, that's why you might be feeling light headed and faint. Please see a doctor asap. Try eating soup to try to get some fluid in your stomach. If it comes up then don't force yourself to eat. Listen to what your body wants and doesn't want. But keep fluids up. It sounds like a terrible bug...Have you eaten any meat that wasn't well cooked?

You've contracted some kind of "Stomach bug", could be 'salmonella or botulism', either way you've got to get a proper diagnosis!......

It sounds like gastric flu. Are you in UK? Phone your GP and tell them its an emergency. They have to get you an appointment. Take care
