What is Reynaud's syndrome?

What's the best room heater for someone who has lupus/reynauds/ endocrinopathy?

  • I have a severe intolerace to cold, meaning it generally has to be over 87 degress before I feel comfortable. Diagnosed with lupus and reynauds syndrome/ and endocrinopathy which is worse with the cold. My body cannot regulate it's temp(thyroid is normal) and I get chilled very easily. I was wondering between a choice of heaters here( electric baseboard is out..so is the filament kind). So I was wondering if the oil filled, quarzt radiant heat or ceramic kind is best for my condition? I often sit in front of a heater when it's chilly. meds and hormones don't seem to help me any.

  • Answer:

"My body cannot regulate it's temp(thyroid is normal) and I get chilled very easily." Unless it is < 2 TSH, don't discount thyroid. TSH ‘norm’ should be .3 – 3 (w/ most feeling best at < 2) but, for diagnosis, would not matter if ANTIBODIES are present. Indicative of Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis (cycles between hyper & hypo at start)…main cause of HypOthyroid & is worse (...OR Graves Disease - HypERthyroid). WARNING: Doctors seem not to want to find/treat thyroid disease. You may have to go to more than one doctor before you get the right tests, interpretation, and treatment. Best wishes. hi i have damage to the autonomici system and the body ant regulate its owntemperaturee. As crazy as it sounds only sheepskin slipper socks, and a berghaus thermal jumper (buy them 2 sizes 2 big i recommend) top that hikers/mountain walkers wear, a ski hat, ski gloves and army sleeping bags will help. There are people who survive outdoors in extreme weather, go freezing cold at night after a very physical day. Heating does help warm the air, but just like before i got injured, the best way to warm up was from the inside out. Now that I am disabled I am unable to do physical exercise to achieve this, the next best thing is getting the body to produce its own heating. Best wishes
