What to do with the rib pain?

What is causing my upper abdomin area, rib and chest pain?

• For the last three weeks, I have had extreme upper abdomen, rib area (both sides but under rib )and chest pain (chest between my breasts). Went to emergency and they did a Cat Scan, Ultrasound and EKG. All normal. The whole area is swollen most days with extreme pain. It is like something is pushing up from the middle. No back pain though. I feel full after eating a bigger meal but otherwise it doesn't affect my food intake. I had two scopes and no issues there either. I have a high tolerance for pain, don't like to take hoards of medications and don't like the idea of pain killers. My doctors have no ideas, think it could be muscle related but that doesn't make sense to me. I asked my doctor if stress could cause some of the pain, but he didn't think it was stress related. I feel I have a healthy way of finding balance in my life so I agree with that. It is just odd for it to be extreme pain without there being a concrete cause. Oh I have tried heat and ice too with no relief. Anybody have any ideas? I am open to any information. Thanks for taking the time to help. Emmie
