WHY DO I FEEL DIZZY ALL THE TIME? LIKE IM DAZED AND MY EYES FEEL HEAVY OR STRAINED?
-
I have had these symptoms for about 1 month now, I am going to the doctor tomorrow because yesterday in walmart I almost passed out. I turned white and very sweaty my mom had to sit me down to keep me from fainting. I've started to get constant headaches throughout the day for the past week and they vary from around my temples to the top and back of my head. Also, I am tired ALL THE TIME!!. My eyes feel sunken in, and strained. I feel like I am in a daze most of the day, and I have trouble concentrating on things sometimes. I've never ever had this problem before, Im 17, always been very healthy, I eat well, I went to the hospital 2 days ago and had a ekg and they said my heart was perfect. And that there was nothing else they could do for me. If you could please help me out and give me opinions on what might be going on it would be very much appreciated! Because im starting to freak out! HATE FEELING THIS WAY. THANK YOU

Answer:
Most likely cause of all of these symptoms combined is muscle tension in two muscle groups in your neck: Sternocleidomastoid(SCM) and Sub-occipitals. That tension probably came from posture while sitting with your head craned forward for hours at a time... watching TV or playing games or even sitting at a desk slumped forward. If these muscles are overused consistently holding them in fixed positions, then they can lock up. The feedback to the nervous system from the SCM muscles when they're locked up can cause dizziness, temple headaches, jaw pain, ringing in ears, and nausea. The feedback from the sub-occipitals can cause pain behind eyes, pain in forehead, pain at top of head, migraines, difficulty concentrating, and more, depending on exactly which muscles are the worst-off. This is very easy for you to treat yourself: 1) Lie down on your back on an even, solid surface like a floor or rug, whatever is comfortable for you, but not soft like a bed. Put your knees up, so your feet are flat on the floor, which will take strain out of your lower back. Rest the back of your head on the floor. 2) SCM: turn your head to the left about 45 degrees, take your left hand and put your palm on the right side of your neck. You can feel a cord underneath your skin, coming from beneath and slightly behind your right ear, going diagonally down to your right collarbone. Gently squeeze that cord between your thumb and fingers. You can turn your head a little more or a little less to feel that cord moving in your grasp. If you GENTLY grasp that cord between the pad of your thumb and the pads of a few fingers, towards the end by your ear. Squeeze a little and you should start to feel some discomfort not only where you're squeezing, but also a small amount of pain in your temple or eyes. Keep holding the muscle and take a few deep and relaxed breaths, which will relax the muscle. If the pain in your temple has not receded, then you're squeezing too hard - take a few more breaths and try again, more gently. Continue this across the length of this muscle, being particularly gentle close to the bone on either end. Repeat on the other side 3) Sub-occiputals - Stay lying on your back and put both hands behind your head, with your elbows relaxed on the floor to the sides, however it's comfortable. With the tips or pads of your fingers of both hands, gently rub the back of your neck, pushing into the tissue at the base of your head, feeling the lower ridge across the base of the skull above your neck. Relax your right hand, and with one or two fingers your left hand, press more firmly into the tissue of your neck, to the left of your spine, but close to your head. As with the SCM treatment, if you feel any pain in your neck or head, then take a few breaths and see if it goes away from the muscles relaxing. From where your fingers are, start pressing upwards towards the base of your skull - this is when things usually start to get interesting, and you feel sensations elsewhere in your head. Take several breaths, and the pain will recede. As before, if the pain does not recede, you're pressing too hard. Once you're relaxed one spot along the lower ridge of your skull, move your fingers closer to the spine, pressing in, and then upwards toward the skull, and breathing gently. You can repeat this as many times as you are still making progress with having the muscles relax, but make sure not to tire out your hand or arm. If you start feeling light-headed or woozy, then you're probably breathing too deeply, and you should just lie there and relax for a while to let the lightheaded sensation fade away. Repeat on the other side to give the left arm a break. 4) Once you're done, turn over to one side, then get up slowly. Take stock of how your neck/head feels. Drink one or two big glasses of water. If your hands/arms can't handle all this, then you can get someone you trust to help you, so long as they have gentle touch, but you must tell them exactly how it feels so they don't press too hard. I recommend finding a massage therapist to work on your neck, if one is nearby and within your budget. http://local.yahoo.com/results;_ylt=Ah2ZDmNMh5lorzwIVeKj0XObvZx4?p=neuromuscular+therapist

Maybe you just need more sleep. It could also be due to stress. Try doing relaxing activities such as taking a hot bath or going for a walk. Also try to get a good nights sleep. If you keep feeling the way you do, you might want to go see your doctor.
