What is the incubation period for the common cold?

What is the incubation period of the common cold, when can symptoms first show up, and how long will they last

  • Answer:

Sorry I can't provide a citation for this, but I read about this a couple years ago and made a point to remember it. On day three you become infectious. On day four you begin to show symptoms. Symptoms last through day 11 to 15, depending on the strain of cold you get and your immune system. Sorry, I don't know how long you remain infectious.)

The incubation period is about 34 years. When the symptoms first start to show-up, you know you are in for one heck of a cold! Symptoms usually start to appear after you've had lots of fun, for instance a company Christmas party. When the molecules in your body are fully charged after a good intoxication, they suddenly all break apart into little particles similar to dust. You begin to sneeze to rid your body of these molecules. Once all the three-double-kazillion molecules have safely been sneezed out of your body, your body than begins to form new molecules waiting to incubate for your next intoxication. I hope that helped.
