What does a white blood cell count of 1.7 mean?
-
Hiya, I've been having blood tests recently as I have poor health - fatigue, weight loss despite eating lots and I'm only 25. The first blood test came up as 1.5 for my white blood cell count, the second 6 weeks later came up as 1.7. The doctor said this is still low. I will need another blood test. So um...what is a normal range? What does a low white blood cell count indicate? I asked if it was anaemia as I have had it lots in the past and he said no, my haemoglobin is actually very good! Any information would really help. Thankyou :)

Answer:
1.5 means 1500, while the normal is 5000-9000.. a low count meaning your immune system already gave up due to chronic infection you might be suffering, though their are other reasons away from that.
